FinMatch AG operates as a digital corporate finance platform, connecting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with a broad network of financing partners. Founded in 2018 by Martin Hipp and headquartered in Stuttgart, the company aims to digitize and streamline the traditionally complex corporate financing process. The founding idea stemmed from the founder's experience as a CFO, where he recognized the inefficiencies and difficulties SMEs face in securing suitable financing partners.
The company's business model is centered on providing a service that simplifies the entire financing journey for its B2B clientele. It offers a digital portal where businesses can submit a single financing request, which is then professionally prepared by FinMatch's experts to meet banking standards. This request is subsequently matched with suitable lenders from a network of over 1,000 financing partners, which includes banks, alternative capital providers, and funding institutions. This process significantly shortens the time required to secure financing from months to a matter of days. FinMatch's revenue is generated through the sale of these services. The company’s services cover a wide spectrum of corporate finance needs, from standard corporate loans and leasing to complex structured financing and the procurement of public subsidies and grants at state, federal, and EU levels. Throughout the process, from application to contract signing, each client is assigned a personal expert for guidance.
Since its inception, FinMatch has facilitated financing projects with a total volume in the double-digit billion euro range. The company has secured funding to fuel its growth, including a seed round of approximately $1.61 million in May 2024 from investors MBG Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg and Conny & Co. In July 2025, Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG) acquired a significant minority stake as part of a long-term investment strategy. The management team includes CEO Thomas Becer and Martin Vögele, who joined the board to drive further growth.
