FileFacets

FileFacets operated as a developer of a file analytics platform, offering a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution for sophisticated data discovery and content search across corporate networks. The company was founded in 2000 by Chris Perram and was later acquired by Data443 Risk Mitigation on August 13, 2020. Before its acquisition, the Kanata-based startup had successfully raised $5M in funding from investors including Celtic House Venture Partners and participated in the L-SPARK accelerator program.

The core of FileFacets' business was to provide enterprises with tools for efficient file management, leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence to automate the identification and processing of content. The platform specialized in handling unstructured data, enabling clients to locate, process, and move content from various sources such as shared drives, Microsoft SharePoint, and other Enterprise Content Management (ECM) repositories. By using technologies like Microsoft Azure, FileFacets was able to deliver a highly automated and scalable service, having processed over 150 petabytes of content for clients globally prior to its acquisition. The acquisition by Data443 included FileFacets' intellectual property, customer base, and partner integrations, incorporating its technology into Data443's broader data security and privacy portfolio.
