Fifty Finance operates as a decentralized finance (DeFi) tool on the Ethereum mainnet, providing an on-chain dollar-cost averaging (DCA) service.
The platform was developed by Sergen, a software engineer based in Zug, Switzerland, an area known as the "Crypto Valley". The project is presented as a work in progress, with plans for future enhancements including support for more stablecoins and assets, a more gas-efficient smart contract, and an improved user interface.
The core service allows users to automate their cryptocurrency investments. Clients can deposit USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, into the platform's smart contract. They then specify a fixed amount of that USDC to be automatically invested into Ether (ETH) on a weekly basis. The weekly transactions are executed through swaps on the Uniswap V3 protocol, triggered by ChainLink Upkeeps. For this automated investment service, the platform charges a fee of 0.50 USDC per swap. Users retain the ability to withdraw their Ether or remaining stablecoins at any time.
