Erova Energy
Renewable asset optimization through a technology-backed trading platform.
Erova Energy is a renewable asset optimization and energy trading company operating in Ireland, the UK, and across Europe. Founded in 2015 by four power trading professionals, the company focuses on optimizing revenue and managing risk for renewable energy assets, including wind, solar, bioenergy, hydro, and battery storage.
The company's core business involves providing a suite of services to renewable energy producers, large industrial customers, and suppliers. These services include Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), route-to-market agreements, balancing services, and energy supply logistics. Erova utilizes a proprietary, state-of-the-art trading platform that operates 24/7, combining automated systems with a team of traders to maximize the value of clients' assets in various energy markets. Clients include renewable asset owners and large energy users, whom Erova assists in managing price risk, enhancing operational efficiency, and meeting grid requirements.
In July 2025, Australian financial services group Macquarie announced an agreement to acquire 100% of Erova Energy, a strategic move intended to support Erova's growth and international expansion. Prior to this, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. became a significant shareholder in 2018, and the company's four founders remained part of the senior management team post-acquisition. The company has expanded its services, notably through the 2023 acquisition of EnDCo (trading as EPG Energy Limited) to enter the UK supplier market and more recently launching Erova Energy Supply to provide electricity to large commercial and industrial customers in Ireland.
