Enlisted Design

Enlisted Design is a multidisciplinary design agency that offers services in industrial design, packaging, branding, and digital experiences. Founded in 2008 by Beau Oyler, the agency operates with a collaborative, cooperative-style approach, partnering with both startups and established Fortune 500 companies. Oyler, an alumnus of the Academy of Art University, established the firm to create cohesive brand and product experiences, moving beyond the traditional separation of design disciplines. He was joined in the founding by Jared Aller, a fellow designer he had worked with previously.

The firm has studios in Oakland, California, and Salt Lake City, Utah. In September 2020, Enlisted Design was acquired by Pattern, a global ecommerce acceleration platform. This acquisition integrated Pattern's real-time market data and data science capabilities into Enlisted's design process, enabling the creation of data-informed product and brand strategies. As a Pattern company, Enlisted continues to operate as a standalone design agency while also serving on Pattern's M&A team to identify, rebrand, and relaunch businesses on the ecommerce platform. This business model allows them to work with clients from initial concept to launch, sometimes taking equity in the brands they help create.

Enlisted Design serves a wide range of clients, including notable brands like Allbirds, Stance, Samsung, Nestlé, Arlo, and MrBeast. The agency has received numerous major design awards, including Red Dot, Spark, IDEA, and has been recognized multiple times by Fast Company, which named it a finalist for "Design Company of the Year". Their work for Allbirds, a compostable shoebox, was honored in Fast Company's 2021 Innovation by Design Awards.
