EMoMee is an edutainment startup that develops products to foster emotional intelligence in children. Founded in Mumbai, India, in 2023, the company targets children aged 2 to 7 with an integrated system of skill-based play, stories, and learning tools. The product line includes play kits, books, puzzles, and digital content designed around three characters—E, Mo, and Mee—to help children develop skills like self-regulation, resilience, and problem-solving. Revenue is generated through direct-to-consumer sales of its physical products via its website and other e-commerce platforms.
The company was co-founded by Pooja Jauhari (CEO), Varun Duggirala (CCO), Suraksha Subramaniam, and Anasuya Menon. The founding team, comprised of parents, combines expertise from previous leadership roles at the digital agency The Glitch, along with experience in HR, talent development, and learning consultancy. This blend of professional and personal experience informs their mission to address a market gap for toys focused on emotional development (EQ) rather than solely cognitive intelligence (IQ). In July 2024, EMoMee secured $1 million in a pre-seed funding round co-led by Whiteboard Capital, Gruhas Collective Consumer Fund, and DeVC to facilitate the launch of its initial products later that year.
