Edstein, established in 2017 with its main sales operations commencing in 2019, operates as a platform for corporate staff training and development. The company provides B2B SaaS solutions, specializing in the development of HR systems for enterprise clients. Its business model is based on subscriptions to its Learning Management System (LMS), which is designed for employee training, assessment, and retention.

The platform offers tools for personnel evaluation and development, aiming to cover a wide range of corporate training scenarios and programs for large organizations. By 2022, over 140,000 employees from major companies were utilizing Edstein's LMS solution. The company has served a notable client base that includes entities such as Mail.ru Group, Wildberries, Magnit, Tatneft, M.Video-Eldorado, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, VK, Qiwi, Leroy Merlin, and Tele2.

In December 2022, the recruiting holding HeadHunter acquired a 25% stake in Edstein, with the investment intended to expand the platform's functionality. Subsequently, in December 2024, HeadHunter completed the acquisition of 100% of Edstein. Following the acquisition, the Edstein team and its product were integrated into the Skillaz system, another HR-tech company within the HeadHunter portfolio. In March 2025, Edstein LLC was officially renamed Skilaz-LMS LLC, and the Edstein website ceased operations as the LMS became a module within the Skillaz platform. The founder, Yevgeny Obogorov, along with other co-owners from the Kirov Group Ventures fund, sold their shares as part of this transaction.
