EasyCrédito is a digital credit platform that functions as a marketplace, connecting consumers with financial institutions offering loans and credit cards. Founded in 2015 in Goiânia, Brazil, by Marcos Túlio Ramos, the company originated from his experience in the traditional financial market and the realization of inefficiencies in credit analysis processes. Ramos, an economist, aimed to create a more accessible and less bureaucratic way for people, including those without formal income, to obtain credit.
The company operates as a financial services and insurance brokerage correspondent, not as a direct financial institution. It provides a platform where users can simulate and compare different credit options based on their profile. Its product portfolio includes personal loans, payroll-deductible loans, financing, credit cards, and loans secured by property or vehicles. In 2019, EasyCrédito launched a microcredit solution with payments integrated into utility bills, in partnership with the financial institution Fidúcia, targeting lower-income and underbanked individuals.
Initially focused on a direct-to-consumer (B2C) model, EasyCrédito pivoted to a primarily business-to-business (B2B) strategy in 2021. It now functions as an infrastructure provider, offering its credit marketplace technology via APIs to other companies like OLX, Méliuz, and AME, allowing them to offer credit solutions on their own platforms. This shift followed a R$2.5 million funding round in 2019 led by the Criatec 2 fund. In May 2022, EasyCrédito was acquired by FitBank, a banking-as-a-service (BaaS) fintech, to integrate its credit marketplace into FitBank's broader financial infrastructure offerings.
Significant milestones include participating in the Google for Startups Residency Program in 2016, which was pivotal for its growth and technological development, and receiving various awards as a great place to work in 2021. By 2020, the company had facilitated over R$300 million in approved credit.
