EAgile Inc., now operating as CCL eAgile, provides radio-frequency identification (RFID) and IoT solutions designed for brand protection and intelligent packaging. The company’s history is rooted in solving early challenges of cost and quality that plagued the RFID market in the early 2000s. Founders Gary Burns and Peter Phaneuf first launched RF IDentics, Inc. in 2004, establishing a vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to design, test, and produce RFID inlays. After their initial company was acquired by Avery Dennison in 2006, Burns and Phaneuf, along with their engineering team, relaunched as eAgile Inc. in 2009.

A major milestone occurred in April 2023, when CCL Industries Inc. acquired eAgile for $54 million, integrating it into its CCL Label's Healthcare & Specialty division.

The company's core service is the production of RFID-enabled solutions that combat counterfeiting, product tampering, and supply chain diversion. A notable product is the patented eSeal™, an intelligent packaging solution that integrates an RFID inlay into the cap and seal of a container. This allows for verification of a product's authenticity, expiration date, and tamper status. For the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, eAgile develops custom inlays for items like syringes and vials, ensuring complete readability in pharmacy kits. Their RFID Line Management (RLM) system is engineered for item-level serialization on pharmaceutical packaging lines, integrating with clients' existing ERP systems and providing real-time validation of products. This is all managed from a 40,000-square-foot facility in Grand Rapids, which includes design, manufacturing, and demonstration centers operating under an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system.
