Driven Communications
Automotive news portal and integrated digital marketing agency.
Driven Communications is a Malaysian digital media and marketing services company primarily focused on the automotive sector. The company was incorporated on October 30, 2008, by co-founders Paul Tan and Harvinder Singh Sidhu. It originated from paultan.org, a personal automotive blog started by Tan in 2004, which grew into one of Malaysia's most popular automotive news portals. The success of the blog led to the creation of a TV motoring program called "Driven," and subsequently the formation of the company to manage the expanding operations.
The company's core business revolves around its publications arm, the Driven Automotive Network, which includes the flagship website paultan.org, as well as CarBase.my and oto.my. These platforms provide automotive news, reviews, and data for the Malaysian and ASEAN markets. The business generates revenue through advertising solutions and as a full-service agency offering integrated digital content and marketing services. These services include custom content production, social media management, event management (such as roadshows and customer experiences), creative solutions, and videography. Driven Communications serves automotive brands and other clients by creating and implementing digital marketing strategies.
In June 2023, Singapore-based online used car platform Carro, the owner of myTukar, made a strategic investment in Driven Communications by purchasing a non-controlling stake. Despite the investment, Paul Tan and Harvinder Singh retain their leadership roles as co-CEOs, and the company maintains full autonomy over its editorial content.
