DotaProHub, operating under Funhouse Technologies Pvt Ltd, was established in 2014 by co-founders Swaroop Hegde and Aditya Mukherjee. The Gurugram-based company carved a niche for itself by providing in-depth statistical analysis for the competitive Dota 2 gaming scene. Its primary clients included esports fans, professional players, and casting studios.
The platform's core offering was an analytical tool that translated complex game data into dynamic, easy-to-understand visualizations. It uniquely combined historical data with real-time information from professional Dota 2 matches to deliver automated analysis. This service went beyond simple performance metrics to provide meta-statistics on aspects like winnings and character usage. One of its specialized products, Cast-o-Matic, was developed specifically for broadcasters to use during live matches, offering a customizable, end-to-end solution for real-time statistics.
The company operated as a free-to-use analysis website. In September 2015, approximately 18 months after its inception, DotaProHub was acquired by Unikrn, a Seattle-based esports wagering company, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition was strategic for Unikrn, aiming to leverage DotaProHub's analytical capabilities to enhance its own cloud-based engine for automating the esports oddsmaking process. Following the acquisition, founders Swaroop Hegde and Aditya Mukherjee relocated to Unikrn's headquarters in Seattle to integrate their expertise.
