DoSelect provides a data-driven skill assessment platform designed to inform and optimize decisions throughout the employee lifecycle. The company was founded in Bengaluru, India, in 2015 by Rohit Agrawal, Iliyas Shirol, Sanket Saurav, and Rohit Tirkey. Rohit Agrawal, the CEO, applied his nearly two decades of experience in scaling HR and recruitment functions at major corporations like Walmart and Oracle to address challenges in human capital management through technology. Iliyas Shirol, the CTO, leveraged his background in computer science and his experience at InMobi to lead the product development and execution at DoSelect.
The firm primarily serves enterprises, SMEs, and startups, helping them make objective decisions in hiring, upskilling, employee engagement, and internal mobility. Its business model is centered on providing its software platform to clients, which include prominent names like Capgemini, PhonePe, Fractal Analytics, and UpGrad. In July 2021, DoSelect was acquired by Info Edge, the parent company of the recruitment portal Naukri.com, for ₹21 crore, enabling it to operate as an independent business unit while integrating into a larger ecosystem.
The platform offers a comprehensive suite of tools for evaluating technical and professional skills. It features a library with over 125,000 questions covering more than 25 programming languages, various frameworks, and specialized fields like AI/ML and data science. Key functionalities include customizable assessments, a real-time coding environment, project-based evaluations, and automated grading. The system provides detailed, insight-rich reports with code quality scores and deep code analysis to give a 360-degree view of a candidate's abilities. To ensure the integrity of remote assessments, the platform incorporates AI-enabled proctoring. DoSelect also integrates with existing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS), streamlining the recruitment and development processes for its clients.
