Doosan Vina, officially Doosan Enerbility Vietnam, is a major manufacturer of heavy industrial equipment located in the Dung Quat Economic Zone in Quang Ngai, Vietnam. Established with an investment certificate on November 20, 2006, the company commenced full operations following its grand opening on May 15, 2009, as a strategic production base for its South Korean parent company, Doosan Enerbility (formerly Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction). The initial vision for this $300 million facility was driven by then-Doosan Group Chairman Park Yong Sung, who saw Vietnam's potential as a forward base for the company's global expansion.
The company specializes in producing large-scale infrastructure products, including boilers for thermal power plants, massive container cranes for ports, and desalination plants capable of converting seawater into fresh water. Its five specialized business units—Boiler, Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), Material Handling System (MHS), Water, and Chemical Processing Equipment (CPE)—manufacture and export these products to countries worldwide. Doosan Vina's equipment has significantly contributed to global infrastructure, adding over 11,180 MW to the electrical grid and producing 776 million liters of desalinated water daily. The company is also shifting its focus towards sustainable energy solutions, particularly offshore wind power products.
In August 2025, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), a part of the HD Hyundai conglomerate, signed an agreement to acquire Doosan Vina for approximately $207 million. This acquisition aligns with HD KSOE's strategy to establish a production base in Southeast Asia for eco-friendly shipping components, such as independent tanks for LNG, LPG, and ammonia carriers, while continuing Doosan Vina's existing crane and industrial equipment manufacturing.
