Dojima Network is an omnichain layer-1 platform designed to unify the fragmented blockchain landscape by enabling developers to build and deploy cross-chain decentralized applications (dApps). Founded in 2020 by Akhil Reddy and Viswa Bhagath Reddy Yerramreddy, the Bengaluru-based company aims to solve the core problem of interoperability in the Web3 ecosystem. The founders' experience with the limitations and high gas fees on the Ethereum protocol inspired them to create a solution that allows for seamless interaction between different blockchain networks.
The platform serves as a middle ground connecting various layer-1 and layer-2 blockchains, including both Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and non-EVM chains. This infrastructure allows developers to access a wider pool of liquidity and users without needing to rebuild applications for each network. The Dojima Network's architecture is composed of two main chains: the Dojima Chain, which hosts development activities, and the Hermes Chain, which facilitates connectivity and liquidity sharing with external blockchains. Key features include a cross-chain wallet, a developer dashboard, and a block explorer, all designed to reduce the technical barriers for building cross-chain solutions.
The company's business model generates revenue through transaction fees on its platform and from protocol deployments on its chain. The native DOJ token is used for network transactions, fees, and staking by validators. In December 2021, Dojima Network raised $1 million in a seed funding round from investors including Signum Capital, Kyber Ventures, and AU21 Capital. The platform launched its testnet in early 2023, facilitating over 760,000 transactions from 150,000 unique addresses, and is preparing for its mainnet launch.
