DNA Oyj is a prominent Finnish telecommunications group that commenced operations on July 1, 2007, following a merger between Finland's 39 local telephone companies. The company's roots, however, trace back significantly further through the long history of its predecessor phone companies. In 2019, the Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor acquired a majority stake in DNA, a significant milestone that led to DNA's delisting from the Nasdaq Helsinki stock exchange in early 2020 as Telenor's ownership surpassed 90%.
Operating primarily in the Finnish market, DNA provides a comprehensive suite of communication services to both consumer and corporate clients. Its business is segmented into two main areas: consumer business and corporate business. For consumers, DNA offers mobile communication services, including subscriptions, mobile data, and the sale of mobile phones, alongside fixed broadband, TV services (including cable and IPTV), and landline telephone services. The company is one of the three major mobile network operators in Finland.
For its corporate clients, DNA delivers a wide array of communication and network solutions. These services are designed to facilitate seamless connectivity and modern working environments, encompassing mobile services, unified communication solutions, and data networks. The company positions itself as a key enabler of digital transformation for Finnish businesses. DNA generates revenue through subscription fees for its mobile, broadband, and TV services, as well as through the sale of devices and customized solutions for its corporate customers.
