Deutsche Investment provides real estate investment solutions for institutional investors. The company's services encompass the entire property value chain, including fund, asset, transaction, property, and facility management, as well as project development. Its investment focus is on residential, office, health & social, and local food retail asset classes across Germany.
The foundation for the current Deutsche Investment Group was laid in 2000 when Enver Büyükarslan established EB GROUP Holding, the predecessor to today's DIH Deutsche Investment Holding. Büyükarslan, a shareholder with over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, founded the holding company that evolved into the present group structure. A significant milestone occurred in 2016 with the takeover of Deutsche Investment Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft. In 2019, the group founded DIR Deutsche Investment Retail, a specialist entity for the local food retail asset class. By 2021, the firm converted from a GmbH to a Kapitalverwaltung AG (a German public limited company acting as an investment management company). Florian Mundt co-founded the Kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft in 2010 but left the firm in 2019 to pursue new challenges.
The firm serves institutional clients such as banks, savings banks, insurance companies, pension funds, family offices, and foundations. It operates through a vertically integrated model, offering a comprehensive suite of services from acquisition to long-term management. The business model is structured around providing customized investment options, primarily through open-ended special real estate funds, and managing these assets to generate returns for its institutional client base. As of early 2024, the company manages assets of approximately €3.2 billion.
