The story begins in 1872 in Feuquières-en-Vimeu, France, where brothers Désiré and Antoine Decayeux founded a company to manufacture security locks and letterboxes. From its inception, the firm focused on quality and innovation, establishing a strong reputation that quickly spread across Europe. Another branch of the family business, which would later become Decayeux STI, was founded in 1911 by Eugène Dhuille, the great-grand-uncle of the current CEO, Stéphane Decayeux. This entity initially specialized in metal processing, starting with alcohol stoves. The company evolved through generations, expanding its metalworking capabilities. In 1938, Eugène Dhuille's nephews, a Decayeux and a Loison, took over, renaming the industrial subcontracting company. A pivotal shift occurred as the company saw the decline in traditional mail and the rise of e-commerce. Anticipating the growing need for package delivery solutions, Decayeux began developing its first connected parcel box, filing a patent in 2011. This foresight led to a significant transformation. The company, now a European leader in the letterbox market, launched its MyColisBox connected parcel box. This innovation earned accolades at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. To solidify its market position, the Decayeux group pursued a strategy of external growth, acquiring competitors like JU in Germany (2011) and Visorex in France (2022). Today, led by descendants of the founding family, Decayeux continues to adapt, focusing on smart, digitally integrated solutions for the modern delivery ecosystem.
