Culpeper’s founders have invested over $3 billion of capital on behalf of themselves and co-investors in a variety of financial services businesses including banks, debt buyers, debt collections, scratch & dent mortgages, consumer lenders, commercial lenders, and insurance companies. The Culpeper team seeks to leverage its deep industry knowledge, widespread relationships, and structuring creativity to generate strong risk-adjusted investment returns.

Our investment strategy is flexible in nature. We embrace complex situations and have the ability to deploy capital throughout the capital structure, including senior debt and mezzanine capital. Our equity can be invested in control or non-control stakes depending on the situation. Uses of capital in our investments include growth funding, providing an exit for entrepreneurs, founders, sponsors and/or existing management, or backing management buyouts of orphaned corporate divisions, non-core assets, and other carve-outs. We use operating partners to monitor investments, provide guidance, and enhance value.
