Isis Solar Ltd, established in the United Kingdom in 2010 by founder Lawrence Buckley, operated within the renewable energy sector, specializing in residential solar panel installations. The company, along with its related entities Isis Solar 1 Ltd and Isis Solar 2 Ltd, pursued a business model centered on providing 'free' solar panels to homeowners. This strategy was designed to capitalize on the UK's Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme, which was offering a lucrative 42 pence per kilowatt-hour at the time.

The company's revenue was generated by retaining the ownership of the installed solar systems and collecting the FIT payments from the government for the electricity produced. Homeowners, in turn, benefited from the use of the electricity generated by the panels, reducing their own energy bills. The initial funding for this enterprise included £5 million raised by Buckley to facilitate the panel installations. The operational structure involved Isis Solar Ltd acting as a holding company, while Isis Solar 1 Ltd and Isis Solar 2 Ltd were responsible for the actual installations and held the contracts with homeowners.

Over its years of operation, the company faced challenges, including customer service issues related to malfunctioning panels. In November 2015, Isis Solar Ltd was placed into voluntary liquidation, and the company was formally dissolved in March 2017. Following the dissolution, management of the contracts and ongoing maintenance of the solar panel systems were reportedly transferred to another entity, Solar O&M Ltd, which was incorporated in September 2015 by the same directors.
