Crodeon Technologies, established in Belgium in 2015, provides end-to-end remote monitoring systems designed for simplicity and reliability. The company's genesis stems from co-founder Sam Vanheule's desire to assist his father on their family farm. Observing the daily manual labor involved in checking water levels and irrigation equipment, Vanheule, who holds a Master's in Industrial Engineering Electronics-ICT, envisioned a more efficient, automated solution. He teamed up with Jonathan Sercu, who has a Master's in Information Management, to establish the company.

The core of Crodeon's offering is the Reporter®, a plug-and-play sensor device that operates without needing Wi-Fi, ethernet, or external power enclosures. This hardware is complemented by the Crodeon Dashboard, a cloud-based platform accessible via any web browser on computers, tablets, or smartphones. The business model centers on selling the Reporter® hardware and a wide array of compatible sensors, combined with a yearly subscription. This subscription covers the cellular data connection (utilizing NB-IoT, LTE-M, and 2G fallback), alarm notifications via SMS and voice calls, data hosting, and ongoing device health monitoring. The company ensures system reliability by automatically notifying customers within 24 hours if a device or sensor ceases to function.

Crodeon targets a diverse client base, from agriculture and construction to food and livestock industries, with a particular focus on applications for water, weather, and indoor climate monitoring. Customers can choose from a multitude of sensors to measure parameters such as temperature, humidity, soil moisture, CO2, water level, pressure, and wind speed. The system is designed for users without technical expertise, allowing them to set up a monitoring system in minutes. Data can be viewed on the dashboard, exported to Excel, or integrated into other systems via a REST API, making it a versatile tool for software companies and consultants seeking a reliable hardware component for their projects.
