In the world of technology services, market consolidation can create titans. Such is the story of CPM Braxis, a company born from a strategic merger in 2007. Three established Brazilian IT players—CPM, Braxis IT, and Unitech—joined forces to create what would become the largest Brazilian IT services company. The founders of Unitech, a group of five executives, and Braxis IT co-founder David Shpilberg, saw an opportunity to build a dominant force in their home market. The new entity, led by CEO Jose Luiz Rossi, offered a comprehensive suite of services, including software development, integration, and infrastructure support. It quickly established a strong foothold, with a significant portion of its client base being local Brazilian enterprises. This local dominance made it an attractive target for international players looking to enter one of the world's fastest-growing IT markets. That international interest culminated in a major event in 2010. French consulting and technology giant Capgemini announced it would acquire a controlling 55% stake in CPM Braxis for R$ 517 million. For Capgemini, it was a strategic entry into the massive Brazilian market. For CPM Braxis, it was validation of their success and a gateway to global clients. The leadership team, including Rossi and Shpilberg, remained to guide the transition. By 2012, the company was fully integrated and rebranded as Capgemini Brasil, marking the end of the CPM Braxis chapter and its absorption into a global powerhouse.
