Corner market
Consignment-based fashion resale and logistics platform.
Corner Market is a South Korean fashion resale platform that operates on a consignment model, initially focusing on used children's clothing and later expanding to include men's and women's apparel. The company was founded in March 2018 by CEO Kim Jun-mo.
The platform provides an end-to-end service for sellers, managing the entire resale process from collection to sale. Sellers request a 'corner bag,' fill it with at least 10 items of clothing, and schedule a pickup. Corner Market then handles inspection, steaming, professional photography, product registration, sales, and shipping. This model is designed to offer convenience to sellers by removing the need for them to individually photograph, list, and manage shipments for their items.
The business model is primarily based on a commission fee for its consignment (위탁판매) service. For items sold through consignment, the company charges a fee of 5,500 KRW per item plus 25% of the sale price. Items that do not meet the criteria for consignment, based on brand and condition, may be purchased directly by the company at a set price per kilogram. Revenue for sellers, called 'Corner Money', is paid out after a sale is confirmed and can be converted to cash or used to buy coupons for partner sites. Initially, the platform focused on secondhand children's brand-name clothing but has since expanded its categories to include women's and men's fashion.
