Copiun, Inc. was a venture-backed enterprise software company established in Marlborough, Massachusetts in late 2008 by co-founders Puneesh Chaudhry and Sanjay Jain. Initially named Sumooh, Inc., the firm addressed the growing need for secure mobile access to corporate data, a challenge amplified by the proliferation of smartphones and tablets in the workplace. The company provided a secure mobile collaboration solution that allowed mobile employees to access, synchronize, and share corporate documents without relying on traditional VPN connections or requiring firewall reconfigurations.

The core of Copiun's offering was its proprietary TrustedShare™ technology. This platform was designed as a corporate alternative to consumer-focused file-sharing services like Dropbox, targeting enterprises with stringent data security and regulatory requirements, such as those in healthcare, insurance, and banking. TrustedShare™ enabled IT departments to maintain end-to-end governance over the entire document lifecycle, including the ability to revoke access to files if a device was lost or stolen. The solution integrated directly with existing enterprise infrastructure, such as Microsoft SharePoint and other file servers, allowing companies to leverage their current investments while enhancing mobile productivity.

The company successfully raised approximately $4.87 million over three funding rounds from a consortium of investors including Novak Biddle Venture Partners, RRE Ventures, Launchpad Venture Group, Hub Angels, Beacon Angels, and LaunchCapital. This capital infusion fueled the expansion of its customer base and marketing efforts. By September 2012, Copiun had amassed over 200 paying enterprise customers and employed around 30 people. Recognizing the strategic value of its technology, Good Technology, a leader in secure enterprise mobility, announced its acquisition of Copiun in September 2012. The acquisition integrated Copiun's file-sharing and data-syncing capabilities into Good Technology's product suite, and the Copiun team, including CEO Puneesh Chaudhry, joined Good Technology.
