Comerc Participações, operating as Comerc Energia, is a Brazilian energy solutions company founded in 2001 by Cristopher Vlavianos. Initially focused on energy management in Brazil's Free Energy Market, the company has since expanded into a comprehensive platform for renewable energy and decarbonization.
In January 2025, Vibra Energia, a major Brazilian fuel and lubricant distributor, completed its acquisition of 100% of Comerc, transforming it into the country's largest multi-energy platform. This acquisition integrated Comerc's renewable energy portfolio with Vibra's conventional energy services, aiming to capitalize on cross-selling opportunities and synergies estimated at R$1.4 billion. The deal valued Comerc at R$7 billion. Following the acquisition, Clarissa Sadock was appointed CEO of Comerc.
The company's business model is structured around four main verticals: Centralized Generation, Distributed Generation, Trading, and Energy Solutions. It develops and operates solar and wind power generation projects, serves as a leading energy trader, and provides a range of services including energy efficiency, carbon credit management, and battery storage solutions through partnerships and subsidiaries like Nexway and MicroPower. Comerc serves a diverse client base, from large industrial consumers to small businesses and residential customers, offering them access to the free energy market, cost savings, and sustainable energy options. As of early 2025, the company managed approximately 4,600 consumer units in the free market and operated over 100 solar plants. Its total installed capacity from solar and wind reached 2.1 GW. The company has also expanded through strategic acquisitions, such as purchasing Soma Energia to strengthen its presence in Northeast Brazil.
