Comark

In 1974, a company named Comark was established in Milford, Massachusetts, with a focus on creating rugged computer hardware. This wasn't about building the next personal computer for your desk; this was about engineering high-performance, durable computer and display solutions for mission-critical applications in sectors like industrial automation, government, and the military. The company carved out a niche by providing products that could withstand demanding environments. Their portfolio grew to include industrial displays, workstations, and kiosks. A significant chapter in Comark's story unfolded in April 2002, when Insight Enterprises acquired the company for approximately $150 million. This move was designed to broaden Insight's client base, especially within the public sector and large enterprises. Another pivotal event occurred in April 2014, when private equity firm JMC Capital Partners acquired Comark. This acquisition was intended to build upon Comark's market position through further strategic acquisitions. Under JMC's ownership, Comark continued to expand, acquiring Total Control Solutions in 2015 and Data Ltd. Inc. in 2017 to enhance its product offerings in industrial and mobile computing. Today, Comark operates as a key provider of rugged edge computing solutions for some of the most demanding commercial and governmental clients worldwide.
