Cogno AI, legally known as Allincall Research And Solutions Private Limited, develops conversational AI and communication software to enhance enterprise customer engagement. The company was founded in 2017 by IIT Bombay graduates Aman Goel and Harshita Srivastava. Goel, who serves as CEO, was inspired to start a company during an entrepreneurship course at college. After an initial co-founder left in 2018, Goel convinced his college friend Harshita Srivastava, who was then working at Citibank, to join as co-founder and CTO.
The company's core offerings include an omnichannel cloud communication platform featuring AI-powered chatbots, live agent chat, and co-browsing capabilities. This platform enables clients to manage customer experiences, monitor customer sentiment, facilitate seamless customer onboarding, and provide digital sales and support. Cogno AI established itself as a market leader in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector, serving over 60 large enterprise clients, including major institutions like the State Bank of India group, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. The business operates on a subscription-based pricing model, designed for enterprise sales with a "land and expand" strategy.
A significant milestone occurred on November 11, 2021, when cloud communication firm Exotel acquired Cogno AI in a part-cash, part-stock deal. The acquisition was part of Exotel's strategy to create an AI-powered, full-stack customer engagement platform by integrating Cogno AI's conversational abilities into its product suite. Following the acquisition, the entire Cogno AI team of nearly 100 members joined Exotel, with Goel and Srivastava continuing to lead their division. Prior to the acquisition, Cogno AI was a bootstrapped startup that had grown to an 85-member team.
