In 2002, CLR Facility Services was established in Pune, India, by its founder, Rajaram Pathak. The company began by offering basic housekeeping and indoor plant rental services to corporate clients. This foundational focus on essential facility needs set the stage for future expansion. The company gradually broadened its service offerings and geographic reach. A key part of its strategy involved acquiring other companies to accelerate growth. Over the years, CLR acquired several businesses, including an interior cleaning services company, Right Resources, DK Hospitality, and Hindustan Facilities, significantly increasing its staff and footprint, particularly in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sector. By 2018, CLR secured its first institutional funding from IndiaNivesh Fund Managers (now FirstBridge Capital), which helped fuel further acquisitions and service line expansions, such as contract staffing. A major turning point occurred in June 2025, when CLR Facility Services raised $15 million in a Series B funding round from British International Investment (BII). This substantial investment is aimed at more than doubling its workforce to over 50,000 employees in the coming years and establishing vocational training centers in tier-2 cities. Today, CLR provides integrated facility management services, including engineering, maintenance, and production support, to over 160 clients across India.
