Cinesystem

Cinesystem is a Brazilian cinema exhibition company headquartered in Maringá, Paraná. Founded in 1999 by brothers Marcos and Carlos Alexandre Barros, the company began with a single multiplex and officially established the Cinesystem brand in 2003 as it expanded to other regions. Marcos Barros, who also serves as the president of the board, had a background in the communications industry, which he leveraged to promote their first cinema. By 2005, the company had grown into a network with 41 screens.

As one of the largest movie theater chains in Brazil, Cinesystem operates 26 complexes and 160 screens across eleven states and the Federal District. The company went public in 2016, listing its shares on the BM&FBOVESPA. In 2024, Cinesystem acquired several cinema locations from Espaço Itaú de Cinema, further expanding its footprint in major cities like São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília. The company's business model is centered on the exhibition of films, with revenue generated primarily from ticket sales and concessions. It also offers its venues for corporate events and meetings.

Cinesystem focuses on enhancing the movie-going experience through technology and comfort. It was the first in Latin America to launch a 100% laser projection cinema complex. The chain offers various formats, including VIP rooms with reclining leather seats and premium services, and CINÉPIC rooms featuring advanced sound and image quality. The company also runs a loyalty program called "Clube da Pipoca" (Popcorn Club), which allows members to accumulate points for rewards.
