China National Investment & Guaranty

China National Investment & Guaranty (I&G) is a national guarantee institution in China specializing in credit enhancement. It was established in 1993, with the approval of the State Council, by the Ministry of Finance and the former State Economic and Trade Commission. The company's initial purpose was to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and promote technological progress.

Over the years, I&G has undergone significant transformations. In 2006, it was integrated into the State Development & Investment Corporation (SDIC). A major milestone occurred in 2010 when the company was restructured from a solely state-owned enterprise into a Sino-foreign joint venture, bringing in six new investors including Jian-Yin International and CITIC Capital. In December 2015, I&G was listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ) system.

The company's business model is built on three pillars: credit enhancement, asset management, and fintech. It operates across the currency, stock, and bond markets, offering a wide range of products. These include financial guarantees, such as corporate bond and trust financing guarantees, as well as services for small and micro-enterprises, and engineering project guarantees. The firm serves a variety of clients by providing guarantees for corporate bonds, annuities, and credit facilities for different products. I&G holds a long-term corporate credit rating of AAA from multiple Chinese rating agencies.
