Based in Mississauga, Canada, Chainvu was established in 2017 by founder and CEO Bob Burrows. The company operated in the logistics and supply chain management sector, offering a platform that utilized blockchain technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide real-time visibility and traceability for product shipments.

Chainvu's core product combined physical sensors, referred to as 'Agents', with gateways called 'Coordinators'. These sensors were attached to assets to collect and transmit data to a web-based platform. Despite its initial funding and market engagement, the company has since ceased operations and is now considered deadpooled as of February 2021.
