Certify Data Systems
Transcend Insights - The Platform for Population Wellness.
Certify Data Systems, Inc. was a healthcare information technology firm established in 2004 by Marc Willard. Based in Campbell, California, the company focused on developing an interoperability platform to facilitate health information exchange (HIE) among various healthcare providers, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.
The company's core product was the HealthLogix platform, a technology designed to create a two-way sharing of clinical information across different electronic health record (EHR) systems. This platform aimed to solve the critical issue of clinical interoperability by connecting disparate systems and providing healthcare professionals with real-time access to relevant patient health information. The HealthLogix platform aggregated data from multiple encounters into a unified, 360-degree longitudinal view of the patient, which was accessible via PC, tablet, and mobile applications. This system was designed to enhance care coordination, reduce gaps in care, and improve patient outcomes by providing actionable health intelligence at the point of care.
In November 2012, insurance giant Humana Inc. acquired Certify Data Systems to integrate its HIE technology into Humana's infrastructure, aiming to create a more coordinated patient experience and a virtually integrated healthcare delivery system. Following the acquisition, Certify Data Systems continued to operate as a subsidiary. A significant milestone occurred in March 2015 when Humana merged Certify Data Systems with two other subsidiaries, Anvita Health and nliven systems, to form Transcend Insights. This new entity was created to be a population health management (PHM) technology company, combining the HIE capabilities of Certify, the analytics of Anvita, and the mobile point-of-care solutions from nliven to address the complexities of population health.
