Celebratix is an Amsterdam-based company aiming to address inefficiencies within the event ticketing market. Founded in 2022 by Frank Roskam, Hans Jochem Dijk, and Guy Rombaut, the company has developed a smart ticketing platform that utilizes blockchain technology. The founders' direct experience with organizing large-scale events, including festivals with over 40,000 attendees, exposed them to significant issues with ticket fraud and the loss of valuable customer data, which became the catalyst for the company's creation.
The firm operates on a business-to-business model, serving event organizers, venues, and festivals. Its core product is a secure ticketing system built on the Solana blockchain, designed to give organizers complete control over primary and secondary ticket sales. This infrastructure tackles fraudulent ticket duplication and resale by transitioning from traditional PDF tickets to a blockchain-based format. For event attendees, the system offers a straightforward and secure purchasing experience through the Celebratix app without requiring them to interact with or understand cryptocurrency. For organizers, the platform unlocks access to customer data before, during, and after events, which can be leveraged for retargeting and improving future events.
Revenue is generated by providing this ticketing infrastructure to its clients, which include prominent nightclubs in Amsterdam like Chicago Social Club and Jimmy Woo, as well as various festivals. Having established a client base in the Netherlands, Celebratix has initiated international expansion. A partnership with MixMag has facilitated its entry into the German market, with operations in Berlin and Hamburg. Following a recent funding round of approximately €1.1 million from investors including Swedish VC uBIT and several angel investors, the company plans to further expand into Sweden and the United Kingdom and hire additional back-end developers.
