Catalytic Capital for Climate and Health
Catalytic capital for early-stage climate and health companies.
Catalytic Capital for Climate and Health (C3H) is an impact-first investment vehicle established by Singapore's Temasek Trust. The firm provides capital to innovative, early-stage companies focused on climate, health, and the intersection of these two sectors. C3H's investment strategy is centered on backing enterprises that offer bold and scalable solutions to deliver tangible, positive impacts. The firm's activities align with the core impact areas of its parent organization, Temasek Trust, which are Planet, People, Peace, and Progress.
As a provider of "catalytic capital," C3H aims to give impact-driven ventures the initial boost needed to unlock more significant funding and support later on. This type of financing is often more patient, risk-tolerant, and flexible than conventional capital, enabling pioneering models to prove their viability. A notable investment in C3H's portfolio is Equatic, a company developing a patented seawater electrolysis process to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while simultaneously producing carbon-negative hydrogen. C3H co-led a US$11.6 million Series A round for Equatic to help scale its technology and commercial operations. According to Ryan Tan, head of C3H, Equatic's approach exemplifies the type of scalable innovation that the fund seeks to support.
