Carré Furniture

In 1948, Jaume Carré opened a small furniture store in Sant Cugat del Vallès, near Barcelona, along with a workshop in a nearby town. This marked the beginning of a family business focused on woodworking and quality craftsmanship. The early years saw the company consolidate its workshop and retail operations, eventually building a dedicated production plant in 1973 to meet growing demand. The company's focus evolved from general furniture to specializing in high-quality wooden fixtures, including doors and closets. This strategic shift allowed Carré to establish itself as a key supplier for architects and designers, concentrating on the contract market for hotels, offices, and residential projects. A significant innovation was the development of a patented, adhesive-free installation system, which streamlined the assembly process for its products. A major turning point in the company's modern history occurred when it became associated with the Hüls Group, one of Europe's major high-quality furniture producers. This partnership gave Carré access to superior production technology and modern organizational methods, enhancing its industrial capacity while maintaining its artisanal spirit. As of early 2025, Carré Furniture secured support from Avançsa, a public entity, to activate a new reindustrialization plan. This plan focuses on expanding its presence in the hospitality market and reinforcing its international export strategy, which includes markets in the United States, the Middle East, and North Africa.
