In 2022, CarePlus Management, along with its founders, agreed to a $7.2 million settlement to resolve allegations of entering into kickback arrangements with referring physicians between 2012 and 2016. The government alleged that the company offered partial ownership in its anesthesia entities and subsidized costs for supplies and equipment to induce referrals, which was claimed to be a violation of the Anti-Kickback Statute and the False Claims Act.
