CallPoint New Europe was a business process outsourcing (BPO) operator founded in 2004, specializing in multilingual call center services. The company provided customer care, technical support, telesales, and back-office services through various channels including voice, email, and chat. It served clients across several industries such as tourism, e-commerce, financial services, and high-tech.
Headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria, CallPoint expanded its operations to have four delivery centers in Eastern Europe: two in Bulgaria (Sofia and Plovdiv) and two in Romania (Bucharest and Craiova). The company supported services in over 28 languages for its clients in Europe and the U.S. In 2011, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invested €3 million, acquiring a minority stake in the company. Other investors included Global Finance.
In September 2012, TELUS International, the global arm of Canadian telecommunications company TELUS, acquired a majority stake in CallPoint New Europe, marking TELUS's entry into the European market. This transaction resulted in the EBRD and Global Finance selling their stakes. Following the acquisition, CallPoint was initially referred to as "CallPoint powered by TELUS" before officially rebranding to TELUS International Europe in February 2014.
