Caitong Securities Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive securities holding group headquartered in Hangzhou, China. Its predecessor, Zhejiang Finance Securities Company, was founded in 1993. The company was officially established on June 11, 2003, and was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in October 2017. This IPO marked the first for a Zhejiang provincial state-owned enterprise. In 2021, its subsidiary Yongan Futures also went public, making Caitong Securities the first firm to achieve a dual listing for both the parent company and a subsidiary.
The firm operates through a diversified business model encompassing ten main sectors: wealth management, investment banking, securities asset management, securities investment, securities credit, futures, overseas securities, fund management, private equity investment, and alternative investments. Its service offerings include securities brokerage, investment consulting, underwriting, margin financing, and financial advisory. Caitong Securities serves a broad client base, from individual investors to high-net-worth individuals and institutions, primarily within China but with an expanding international presence through its Hong Kong subsidiary. The company generates revenue through fees and commissions from its brokerage, investment banking, and asset management activities, as well as returns from its proprietary investments.
Caitong Securities has established a significant presence with over 210 branches, covering all of Zhejiang province and extending to major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. The company also operates an online trading platform and mobile application to provide clients with continuous access to its services. The firm manages substantial assets, with its wealth management division overseeing over ¥300 billion and its mutual funds holding over ¥120 billion in assets as of late 2023. The company is recognized as the only securities firm directly under the provincial government of Zhejiang.
