Brisk Teaching provides an AI-powered teaching assistant designed to reduce administrative workload for K-12 educators. Founded in 2023 by Arman Jaffer, the company developed a browser extension that integrates with existing tools like Google Workspace, YouTube, and various learning management systems. Jaffer, with a background in computer science from UC Berkeley and experience at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, aimed to create a tool to help teachers save time on tasks such as lesson planning, creating materials, and providing student feedback.

The free version offers more than 20 tools for creating instructional content, three styles of feedback generation, a writing inspection tool, text-leveling to adjust reading difficulty, and translation into over 30 languages. For-pay versions for individual educators, schools, and districts provide access to a more advanced AI model, additional creation tools, administrative dashboards, and enhanced security features. The business model relies on subscriptions from schools and districts for these premium features. Brisk serves the K-12 education market, with a user base of over one million educators in more than 100 countries.

A key feature is 'Brisk Boost,' a student-facing tool that creates interactive activities and personalized tutoring from classroom content. This feature is designed to provide adaptive support and real-time feedback to students while giving teachers insight into their progress. The platform also assists with creating quizzes, presentations, rubrics, and differentiating lesson plans. It can adapt online text into a Google Doc with adjusted reading levels or translations. The company emphasizes student data privacy, being FERPA and COPPA compliant, and does not store student responses or personal information.

Brisk Teaching secured a $5 million seed round in September 2024, led by Owl Ventures. This was followed by a $15 million Series A round in March 2025, led by Bessemer Venture Partners, bringing total funding to over $21 million. This funding is intended to accelerate product development and expand its user base, with the goal of evolving from a set of tools into a unified AI ecosystem for classrooms.
