Bringmeister is an e-commerce supermarket platform founded in 1997 by Kaisers-Tengelmann. Initially operating via paper catalogs with orders taken by phone or fax, it has since evolved into a major online grocery delivery service in Germany. The company's business model is centered on first-party (1P) sales, acting as the direct seller of a wide range of groceries, including fresh produce, EDEKA private label products, and over 1,000 organic items. Customers can place orders online for same-day delivery within specific time windows, from Monday to Saturday, between 6 a.m. and midnight.
The company has undergone several ownership changes. In 2017, it was acquired by the EDEKA Group as part of the Kaiser's Tengelmann integration. In April 2021, EDEKA sold Bringmeister to the Czech investment group Rockaway Capital, which aimed to expand the service across Germany. Subsequently, in September 2023, Rohlik Group's German subsidiary, Knuspr.de, acquired Bringmeister from Rockaway Capital. This latest acquisition is part of a strategic move by Rohlik Group to consolidate its presence in the German online food retail market, particularly in Berlin and Munich. Following the acquisition, Bringmeister's operations in Munich and Berlin were integrated into Knuspr's automated fulfillment centers. The Bringmeister brand was phased out in early 2024, with its services and customer base transitioning to Knuspr.de.
