The story of dlhBOWLES is one of merging two specialized, yet complementary, engineering powerhouses. It began separately with DLH Industries, founded in 1975 by Mr. D.L. Houck as an injection molding company in Canton, Ohio, and Bowles Fluidics, which traces its origins to 1961. Both companies carved out niches in the automotive industry, with DLH focusing on air and fluid management systems and Bowles specializing in fluid distribution products like windshield washer nozzles. A pivotal moment occurred in mid-2015 when Morgenthaler Private Equity acquired DLH Industries and merged it with its portfolio company, Bowles Fluidics Corporation. This strategic merger created the entity known today as dlhBOWLES, combining DLH's expertise in manufacturing and assembly with Bowles' deep knowledge of fluid dynamics. The new company became a more vertically integrated supplier for the automotive sector, offering everything from design to finished assemblies. As the automotive world evolved, so did dlhBOWLES. The company became a key player in developing systems essential for modern vehicles, such as camera and sensor cleaning systems for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and thermal management for electric vehicles. This forward-looking strategy positioned them for another significant event. In March 2022, ABC Technologies, a Canadian auto supplier, completed its acquisition of dlhBOWLES for approximately $255 million, aiming to create a powerhouse in automotive fluid management systems.
