Botcity

Botcity is a Dominican startup that provides software solutions to enhance customer service efficiency. Founded in May 2019 by CEO Santiago Infante and CTO José Peña, the company develops human-like chatbots to automate client communications. The platform features a hybrid human-robot model, where a human can intervene through a CRM and Contact Center to resolve issues the bot cannot handle on its own. CEO Santiago Infante, an alumnus of Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, gained experience in the car rental and insurance sectors before venturing into entrepreneurship after participating in a Startup Weekend event. He then partnered with José Peña to establish Botcity. The company has received backing and investments from various entities, including CREE Banreservas, Enlaces, Boost Acceleration Camp, and Impúlsate Popular. In 2023, Botcity was selected for the international accelerator program Parallel18, receiving a US$60,000 grant to support its growth.

Botcity serves a diverse client base across sectors such as retail, education, health, and finance. A key product is PideBot, a specialized chatbot for the restaurant industry that manages orders and delivery through WhatsApp. This service processes thousands of orders monthly for restaurants in the Dominican Republic. The company's business model is based on providing these chatbot solutions to businesses, helping them offer 24/7 customer support, generate leads, and automate responses.
