In 1956, Daniel Blondel founded a family transport business in the Picardy region of France. Initially focused on hauling goods like sugar beets, the company, named Transport Blondel, established a local foothold. The story took a significant turn in the 1990s when Daniel's son, Grégoire Blondel, took the helm. He made the pivotal decision to diversify beyond pure transport and expand into the growing field of logistics. A key moment in this evolution was the expansion into specialized industrial logistics, particularly for the aeronautics sector, starting around 1993. This move laid the groundwork for the company's future growth. In 2006, Grégoire Blondel was joined by Jérôme Juteau, who became the General Director, and together they pushed the company's industrial and logistics capabilities further. This new direction was solidified in the 2010s through a series of strategic acquisitions, including companies like Citra, Grimonprez, Régis Martelet, and Sobotram. These purchases were supported by investors such as Bpifrance and helped the Blondel Group expand its geographical reach and expertise, notably in e-commerce and hazardous materials logistics. Today, what started as a small family trucking firm has transformed into a major European supply chain player with over 3,000 employees.
