Blitzz, now operating as Arcion, develops a cloud-native data mobility platform for enterprises. Headquartered in San Mateo, California, the company specializes in real-time, large-scale data replication and database migration with zero downtime. The platform is designed for data architects and engineers to create autonomous, zero-code data pipelines, enabling continuous and reliable data replication across various, often incompatible, database systems.

The company was founded in 2016. In February 2022, Blitzz rebranded as Arcion and announced it had secured $13 million in a Series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with strategic participation from Databricks. This followed a Seed round of $5.16 million in February 2021. As part of its new phase, the company appointed Gary Hagmueller, a leader with experience in scaling high-growth companies, as its new CEO. In November 2023, Arcion was acquired by Databricks for $100 million and now operates as a subsidiary.

Arcion's core product facilitates zero-downtime migrations to and from cloud platforms like Azure, streaming data pipelines at scale. The platform supports numerous databases including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Key features include Change Data Capture (CDC), bi-directional and fault-tolerant replication with automatic recovery, end-to-end data validation, and a distributed scale-out architecture built for high-volume data ingestion. The technology allows enterprises to consolidate data for real-time analytics, AI/ML workflows, and business intelligence, serving clients in sectors like financial services, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and banking.
