BinWise offers a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform tailored for the beverage management needs of the hospitality industry, including restaurants, bars, hotels, and country clubs. The company was established in 2012 by co-founders Grant Gilligan, a former sommelier, and Tony Cha. The platform aims to streamline and automate the complexities of beverage program administration, from inventory control to purchasing and sales analytics.

The company's core offering, BinWise Pro, is a comprehensive beverage inventory management system. It provides tools to eliminate manual data entry, which can reduce the time spent on inventory by up to 85%. Key features include barcode scanning for quick and accurate counts, real-time tracking of stock levels by beverage type and brand, and monitoring of top-selling items versus dead stock. The system also facilitates direct ordering from suppliers, converting purchase orders into invoices and received inventory seamlessly. To complement its main platform, BinWise provides BinScan 2.0, a mobile app for inventory scanning, and SproutQR, which generates digital, QR-code-based wine lists that are always synced with the live inventory. The platform generates detailed financial reports, such as variance and sales reports, to help businesses make informed decisions and improve profitability.

BinWise operates on a subscription-based model, providing its software to a range of clients from small businesses to large enterprises. In May 2019, BinWise was acquired by BlueCart, a procurement and fulfillment platform for the food industry. This merger created a more comprehensive solution for both food and beverage management, serving a combined total of over 73,000 restaurants and wholesale suppliers at the time of the acquisition. Following the acquisition, BinWise continued to evolve, launching a significant platform upgrade, BinWise 2.0, in January 2020.
