Bharatsure is an Indian insurtech firm established in May 2021 by co-founders Anuj Parekh and Sanil Basutkar. The company operates on an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) model, providing a full-stack technology platform for the distribution of insurance products. Its target clients are insurance intermediaries such as licensed brokers, agents, banks, and other institutions, empowering them to offer group insurance and healthcare benefits to organizations across India. The business model functions as B2B2B (Employee Benefits as a Service) and B2B2C (Embedded Insurance). Revenue is generated through policy distribution, premium commissions, and other value-added insurtech services.
The company was founded as Healthysure and later rebranded to Bharatsure to reflect its broader mission. Anuj Parekh, the CEO, is a Chartered Accountant and an IIM-Bangalore graduate with a background in finance and venture scaling. His journey includes roles at Mahindra's startup SmartShift and consulting for the Virgin Hyperloop project. Sanil Basutkar, the Head of Product & Marketing, is also a Chartered Accountant and an alumnus of ISB with deep experience in the fintech sector. The founders, friends for over 15 years, launched the venture to address the low insurance penetration in India.
Bharatsure's platform offers a suite of services designed to streamline the insurance distribution process. It provides white-labeled technology that allows partners to customize dashboards, manage operations centrally, and integrate with insurers, TPAs, and HRMS systems. A key feature is a pricing engine that generates instant quotes from over 25 insurers. The platform also supports embedded insurance use cases, enabling partners in sectors like e-commerce, fintech, and logistics to integrate insurance offerings directly into their products. Recently, Bharatsure launched specific products tailored for gig workers, students, and digital users, covering health, personal accidents, and cyber risks. The company has partnered with over 500 organizations, covering more than 200,000 individuals, and has set a goal to secure 1 crore (10 million) Indians in the near future.
