Beeplus, established in September 2015, is an asset management operator focusing on office buildings and industrial parks in China. The company was co-founded by Dave Tai and nine of his fellow university alumni from the Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College. The initial idea stemmed from their own search for office space to support a catering business they had started as students to fund their tuition. Their first project involved transforming 36 shipping containers into a workspace complete with a restaurant, gym, and rooftop bar.
Initially operating as a co-working space provider, Beeplus strategically shifted its business model around 2018 to an asset-light management and operation model. This approach involves leasing its brand and providing operational management services to property owners in exchange for a service fee, a model similar to that of major hotel groups. The company has established dual headquarters, with its administrative base in Zhuhai and its business headquarters in Shenzhen. Beeplus serves a clientele that includes corporate and government customers, providing one-stop solutions that range from site selection and design to ongoing operations and management.
The company's offerings include high-end co-working spaces with amenities like social lobbies, dedicated desks, private offices, napping pods, and shower rooms. Beeplus also offers enterprise customization services and has developed a lifestyle brand component that introduces innovative retail models within its spaces. By 2023, the company had attracted nearly 3,000 corporate clients and had completed its Series C funding round in March, achieving a valuation of RMB 1 billion in a prior round.
