Beeplus Co-working Space, legally registered as Zhuhai City Bee Technology Co., Ltd., was established in September 2015. The company was founded by CEO Rob Jia (Jia Fan) and co-founder Dave Tai, along with eight other fellow alumni from the Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College. The founders' journey began during their university years when they started a restaurant and catering business to fund their tuition, which led them to identify the need for flexible and affordable office solutions.
Initially launched as a co-working space provider, Beeplus's first project was a unique workspace in Zhuhai constructed from 36 shipping containers, which included amenities like a gym, conference rooms, and a rooftop bar. By 2018, the company strategically pivoted its business model, transitioning from a traditional co-working operator to an asset management company with an asset-light model. This shift focuses on leasing its brand and operational management expertise to property owners for a service charge, positioning Beeplus as a manager of commercial buildings and industrial parks. This model offers one-stop solutions, from project planning, design, and construction to investment promotion and post-operation management for corporate and government clients.
Beeplus primarily serves enterprises and government entities, offering customized office spaces and managing industrial parks. It operates in the commercial real estate and asset management market, with a strong presence in the Greater Bay Area and other major Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. The company generates revenue through service charges from property owners for managing their assets and providing comprehensive office solutions. Its services include creating high-end, flexible office spaces with amenities such as dedicated desks, private offices, napping beds, shower rooms, and social areas with a wide selection of beverages. Beeplus has successfully completed several funding rounds, including a Series C in February 2023, and counts Da Heng Qin Group, Ocean Link, and Challenjers Capital among its investors.
