Bapul is a South Korean company that developed a collaborative platform for K-12 students. Founded in 2011 by Minhee Lee and Koo Lee, the Seoul-based firm was later acqui-hired. The company's platform, known as "mmediately Solve [Bapul]," functioned as a question-and-answer forum where students could receive assistance with their studies.
The core service allowed users to upload a picture of an academic question and have other students provide answers across more than 400 topics, including mathematics, science, history, and SAT preparation. This created a peer-to-peer learning environment. The platform also enabled students to form public or private study groups and connect with peers studying for the same subjects or exams. An additional feature included a marketplace for chat-based tutoring services. The company's business model focused on facilitating collaborative learning among students in the K-12 market.
Throughout its operation, the company received recognition, winning the Women's Entrepreneurship Competition Prize in 2011, the Chung Founded Contest Prize in 2012, and a Republic of Korea Mobile App Award in 2013. In January 2015, Bapul secured an undisclosed amount of seed funding from investors Capstone Partners and East Gate Partners.
