Banmaxingkong is an online art education platform operated by Zebra Starry Sky (Beijing) Network Technology Co., Ltd. The company was founded on April 14, 2014, by Li Wei, who also serves as the CEO. Li is a graduate of Tsinghua University's Department of Computing and had 13 years of experience in the internet industry before founding the company, including roles at NetEase, Renren Inc., and as CTO of eDaijia.
The platform provides video-based courses covering a wide range of artistic disciplines for all age groups. Course offerings include children's painting, children's calligraphy, parent-child handicrafts, adult-themed painting, adult calligraphy, mobile photography, gardening and floristry, and life handicrafts. The service is primarily delivered through a WeChat official account, where it hosts its video lessons.
In July 2018, Banmaxingkong secured 13 million RMB in an Angel funding round. The investment was led by Dongfang Xinchuang, with participation from Ruchuan Capital and Lin Fan, the CEO of Maimai.
