AugmentedCISO, now operating as Tenacy since October 2022, provides a next-generation Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform dedicated to cybersecurity management. The company was founded in 2019 by Julien Coulet and Cyril Guillet, who drew on their backgrounds in cybersecurity consulting to address the real-world needs of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs). Headquartered in Dardilly, near Lyon, France, the firm launched its platform in 2020 with the goal of helping CISOs better pilot their cybersecurity to minimize enterprise risks.
The company operates on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business model, providing a centralized platform that interconnects and measures all cybersecurity management processes. This approach offers clients enhanced visibility, efficiency, and consistency, enabling better decision-making. The platform is designed to simplify cybersecurity organization, manage compliance over time, and measure security performance. In early 2022, AugmentedCISO secured €2.5 million in a funding round from investors including Kreaxi and Cyber Impact, which was intended to accelerate software development and client acquisition. The rebranding to Tenacy reflects a broadened mission to serve entire cybersecurity teams beyond just CISOs and to expand its market reach across Europe and North America. By the time of the rebranding, the company had grown to 30 employees, serving 65 clients and over 1,200 users.
